Director Patrick Wang of the feature film IN THE FAMILY (shot with RED and
transferred to 35mm) will have its Midwest Premiere @ Cleveland Cinematheque
on Thursday, Jan 12, at 6:45pm, Wang will do some Q&A afterwards. Earlier at
4pm of the same day, Mr. Wang will taking a small/short tour at Media Design
Imaging and Creative House Studios before the screening, if anyone plans to
attend the screening, you are also welcome to swing by the studio at 4pm to
join us for a small meet & greet and hang a bit. Our studio is located at
1419 East 40th Street, Cleveland, OH 44103.

Joey is devastated when his partner Cody dies suddenly and Cody's biological
six-year-old child, whom both men were raising, goes to live with Cody's
sister, as specified in the will. Joey struggles to make peace with the
family and find his way back into his son's life. This first-time film by
writer/director/star Patrick Wang was rejected by 30 film festivals before
finally opening in NYC, where The NY Times called it "one of the most
accomplished and undersold directorial debuts this year." (It is also one of
five movies nominated for the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Award for Best
First Feature.) Set in Tennessee, In the Family is far from a stereotypical
Southern melodrama; Mr. Wang is Asian-American, and his propensity for long,
meditative takes and fascination with family dynamics echo the work of
Japan's great Yasujiro Ozu. "A beautifully written and performed plea for
