THE KENT
STATE UNIVERSITY PRODUCTION OF RAGTIME
PRESENTED BY THE SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND THE
SCHOOL OF THEATRE AND DANCE
IS SEEKING CHILD ACTORS FOR THE ROLE OF
COALHOUSE WALKER III
This cameo role requires an African American
male between ages of 6-9, no taller than 45 inches. This is a very important non-
speaking character that appears at the end of the play.
Ragtime,
under the direction of Professor Eric van Baars, (Porthouse Theatre, Assistant
Artistic Director) and musical directors Professors Kerry Glann and Jonathan
Swoboda, features a cast of 35. This would be a wonderful performance
opportunity for a young person interested in the performing arts. The role may be shared between 2 children. Complimentary
tickets are available.
Rehearsals (evenings) would begin Monday, Feb
13.
The
production runs Friday, Feb 17- Sunday, Feb 26. Performances held in E. Turner Stump Theatre on
the Kent Campus.
Performance schedule -
Feb. 17,18, 22, 23, 24, 25 at 8pm. Feb . 19, 26 at 2pm. Feb. 22 at 10 am.
