How to improve board performance and
revitalize your organization
KIRTLAND, Ohio – January 23, 2012 - The Lakeland Community College
Nonprofit and Public Service Center will host “Board Renewal and
Revitalization: The Power of the Nominating Committee,” on Tuesday,
February 7 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. on the college's main campus, 7700

This workshop will focus on best practices for nonprofits in the areas of
board structure, recruitment and development. The highly interactive
session will be led by Sarah Spengler, MSOD, program director for
organizational assessment at United Way of Greater Cleveland.
Attendees will learn how a new type of committee can help the organization
renew and revitalize organizational leadership. They will also discover
the powerful role this important committee can play in how well the board
functions. For the greatest benefit, participants are encouraged to
register in teams: teams of board members or teams comprised of both
board and staff members.
