NEOMFA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL OPENS THIS THURSDAY, FEB. 2,
AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM'S LIMINIS THEATRE.

convergence-continuum presents two new plays by local playwrights. The
NEOMFA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL features thesis productions of PLANT LIFE by
Michael Williams, running Thu-Sat, Feb. 2-4, and NOTHING FUNNY by Jarod
Witkowski, running Thu-Sat, Feb. 9-11. These plays are the culminating
experience of three years of intensive study under playwright and
professor Mike Geither, and are co-produced by convergence-continuum,
Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) and Cleveland State
University.

PLANT LIFE, directed by Geoffrey Hoffman, is a strange tale of medical
science fiction. What if your young wife needed a new liver, and the
transplant list was long? What if her new, "cutting-edge" doctor (who has
a fascination with botany) presented you with a shortcut? Actors Liz
Conway, Tom Kondilas, Sarah Kunchik and Michael Regnier are featured.

In NOTHING FUNNY, directed by convergence’s Artistic Director, Clyde Simon,
Son is nearly 30, has never had a job, and is still living at home. Mom
and Dad are getting pretty fed up with it. This darkly comic play takes a
look at a stressed contemporary family’s inept attempts to connect with each
other. Featured actors are Amy Bistok-Bunce, Benjamin Gregg and Wes Shofner.

The NEOMFA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL opens this Thursday, Feb. 2 and runs at 8pm
Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Feb. 11 at the Liminis, 2438
Scranton Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113. Tickets are $10 general and $5 for
students. For reservations and information visit
