A Latina world-class teacher, dancer and choreographer, Susana Evert teaches a complete and basic understanding of the main Latin rhythms such as salsa, merengue, samba, and rumba all with authentic Latin music that transports you to each country.  This workshop offers the beginning of an understanding of the various  styles of dance and music of the great Latin-American and Caribbean cultures.  No partners required.

Susana Evert Born and raised in Mexico City, Susana began her Ballet training at the age of four and began her professional training as a modern dancer at the school of Ballet Nacional de Mexico. Later she trained in the school of Ballet Independiente de Mexico where she danced professionally and toured the Mexican Republic and Central America. Susana moved to New York City to continue her dance training with Master teachers: Takako Azakawa, Kazuko Hirabayashi, Louis Falco, The Alvin Ailey Dance School, and Carol Rioux among others. She appeared with Linda Diamond and Dancers at the Symphony Space and Lincoln Center Annex in New York City. In 1985 Susana moved to Cleveland, Ohio with husband, Tom and son, Max Evert, and co-founded "The Tom Evert Dance Company", where she has served as the co-director, principal dancer, choreographer and teacher.  With her company   now called DANCEVERT , she has created a major body of choreographic work and received fellowships for choreography from the Ohio Arts Council and The Arts Council of Fairfax County VA. , participated in many collaborations with prestigious organizations such as The Great Lakes Theatre Festival, The Cleveland Orchestra, and The Cleveland Museum of Art.  Susana continues with her husband/partner working extensively with arts integrated  instruction in the schools,  outreach programming , and to offer performances  locally, nationally,  and internationally.


Beck Center Dance offers age appropriate early childhood classes in KidsNDance, preschool dance, preballet, and boys dance; youth and teen division classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, contemporary, and hip hop; and adult classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, tone & stretch, and gyrokinesis.
