ACTOR NEEDED FOR SENIOR THESIS DOCUMENTARY
*Needs to speak scripted French lines*
Savannah College of Art and Design
“12:15 Sunday”
(World War II Documentary with Reenactments)
This documentary is about a soldier who fell behind enemy lines, and tried avoiding the same fate that many soldiers before him could not escape: capture. Against the odds, John Jenkins persevered through the trials of escaping to American lines. This is not the first story of its kind to be told. But nonetheless, this story is honest, begs attention, and strikes a chord with any listener. It’s real, and it’s told straight from the veteran himself at 87 years of age.
In many ways, this film had potential for making a good narrative screenplay. But it simply wouldn’t match the power of hearing it straight from the man that experienced it. This documentary will combine interviews with John Jenkins with dramatic reenactments that reflect the events of his story. The theme of the film deals with the subtle, yet undeniable role of grace, and reminds us of the fragility of life.
