Firestone Theatre to Present *Legally Blonde* for Five Fabulous Performances

Fast and Funny Musical Sure to be a Hit with Students and Community



            *(Wednesday, February 8, 2011 – Akron, OH)  -- *Omigod, you
guys, *Legally Blonde – The Musical* is set to take the Firestone stage for
five sure-to-please performances. This popular show was recently made
available for amateur and school performances and Firestone Theatre is
among the first Ohio schools to present it starting at 7:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Additional performances of *Legally
Blonde*will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, Friday, March
2, and
Saturday, March 3, 2012. A single matinee will be held at 2:30 p.m. on
Saturday, March 3, 2012.

            General admission tickets for all performances cost $8.00 in
advance and $10.00 at the door. Reserved, VIP seats are available for *Legally
Blonde *at a cost of $13.00. All seats for the Wednesday evening
performance cost $8.00 and are available in advance and at the door.

Advanced tickets for *Legally Blonde* can be purchased by mail. A ticket

In *Legally Blonde --** The Musical*, sorority star Elle Woods doesn't take
"no" for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone "serious,"
Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and sets out to go where no
Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Along the way, Elle proves that
being true to yourself never goes out of style. *Legally Blonde* features
music and lyrics by *Laurence O’Keefe* and *Nell Benjamin* as well as a
book by *Heather Hach*. *Legally Blonde *is based on the novel by *Amanda
Brown* and the Metro-Goldwin-Mayer motion picture.

The Firestone Theatre production of *Legally Blonde* is under the direction
of theatre director *Mark A. Zimmerman*. Guest artist *Rachel Galambos* is
the show’s choreographer. Music theory instructor *Dr. David
Spondike*serves as the conductor and instrumental music director.
Choral music
director *Sally A. Schneider* is the production’s vocal music director.
Guest artist *Julie Lehman* serves as the rehearsal accompanist and vocal
coach. Guest artist *Randie O. Sass* is the production’s costume designer.
Guest artist *Elynmarie Kazle* serves as production manager. Guest
artist *Matthew
Newcomb* serves as the scene shop foreman.

Firestone Theatre is the play-producing component of the high school visual
and performing arts program for the Akron Public Schools. The magnet arts
theatre program, which is housed at Firestone High School, is open via
audition and open enrollment to any incoming ninth grade student.  The
school is located at 333 Rampart Avenue in Akron.
