*A Girl’s Guide to Coffee ***

*Cast & Creative Team*



Actors’ Summit, Akron’s Equity professional theatre, has announced the cast
for its upcoming world premiere production of *A Girl’s Guide to Coffee.* This
* *new play by Cleveland based playwright, Eric Coble, follows Alex, a
young coffee barista, who is working as a barista while she tries to figure
out her post-college path in life..  Along the way she is accompanied by
her friend, her parents and the crazy coffee shop manager.  Alex struggles
to discover what path the world holds for her as she creates caffeinated
conconction after conconcotion, some of them for the young artist who
appears in the coffee shop.  The show will run from February 23rd through
March 11th at Greystone Hall in downtown Akron.



*The Playwright*



*Actors’ Summit is pleased to be collaborating again with playwright Eric
Coble* who created *A Girl’s Guide to Coffee* for the company*.  *Two
seasons ago Coble’s play *For Better* had its Ohio premiere at Actors’
Summit.  His other scripts include *My Barking Dog*, *Bright Ideas*, *The
Dead Guy*, *Natural Selection*, and *The Giver*, and have been produced
Off-Broadway, throughout the U.S., and on several continents.  Awards
include an Emmy nomination, National Theatre Conference Playwriting Award,
and four Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Grants.



*The Director*

* *

*Directing the production of A Girl’s Guide to Coffee is Constance
Thackaberry.  *This is show marks the 8th production she has directed for
the company which includes productions of *Becky’s New Car*, *A Christmas
Carol*, *Last Train to Nibroc*, and *Nixon’s Nixon.  *Connie also serves as
the Senior Artistic Associate of Actors’ Summit where she enjoys working on
play selection, casting as well as recruiting volunteers and ushers.
Connie holds a BA in English from the Honors College at Kent State
University and received her MFA from The Actors Studio Drama School at New
School University.



*The Cast *

* *

*Margo Chervony* is making her Actors’ Summit debut.  Most recently, she
played Emilia in *Othello* and the Queen in *Love’s Labours Lost* with the
Cleveland Shakespeare Festival.  She received her B.A. from Case Western
Reserve University.



*Rachel Gehlert *is also working with Actors’ Summit for the first time.
 She recently played Sherry in Dobama Theater’s production of *Tigers Be
Still*.  Rachel holds an undergraduate degree in Photography and English
from Fordham University at Lincoln Center.

* *

*Frank Jackman *is returning to Actors’ Summit where he first appeared in *The
Gingerbread Lady* 13 years ago.  Other recent roles for Actors’ Summit
include, Frank recently played Bassinet in* The Ladies Man *and* *John Gray
in *A Murder, A Mystery & A Marriage.*  Frank has been with the Actors’
Summit company since 1999 and has appeared with the company in more roles
than any other male actor.**

*Mark Leach *is in his final year at Kent State University and is working
towards a B.A. degree in acting performance.  Last season, Mark made his
Actors’ Summit debut in *Becky’s New Car *and earlier this season he
appeared in* Woody Guthrie’s American Song*.

* *

*Alex J. Nine *made his Actors’ Summit debut last season as Gustav Aubin in
*The Ladies Man.  Alex recently appeared as Willie in **Early One Evening
at the Rainbow Bar & Grille* with Hudson Players.  Alex is a company member
of The Ohio Shakespeare Festival.**



*Laura Stitt *is making her debut performance with Actors’ Summit.  Other
credits include Lady Macbeth, Blanche DuBois, Harper in *Angels in America*,
and Rose in *Dancing at Lughnasa*.  Laura received a BFA in musical theatre
from Otterbien College and a MFA in Acting from Case Western Reserve
University.



*Ticket Information *

* *

Individual ticket prices range from $19 at preview performances and
Saturday matinees to $30 for Friday and Saturday evenings.  All full time
students with ID can attend any performance for $9.



Remainder of Season Subscriptions are still available starting at $56 for
four shows.
