Spring classes start March 5th 2011
 
STAGE 1
Fundamentals of Theatre for All Ages
All classes meet once per week for seven weeks unless otherwise noted.
 
Tiny Tot Theatre - AGES 2-3
We dance, sing, play, and learn about theatre, all in a creative, fun environment. Parents can participate during this class. 
30 minutes. 
Time: Tuesdays at 5:30
COST: $50

Kinderdrama - AGES 4-5
This class is an introduction to theatre. Your child will learn the fundamentals of theatre while being engaged in creative theatrical play that helps them get ready for the stage! We sing, dance, and have fun learning about the magic of theatre. 
60 minutes. 
Time: Mondays at 5:30
COST: $80
Teaching Artist: Donna Noble
 
Children at PLAY - AGES 6-8
This class is an introduction to theatre. Students will learn the fundamentals of theatre while getting ready for the stage! Through Theatre games, students will learn areas of the stage, voice, characterization, becoming an ensemble, and much more. 
60 minutes. 
Time: Wednesdays at 5:30
COST: $80

Fun with Fundamentals - AGES 9-12
This class will teach students the fundamentals along with the who, what, when, where and why of theatre. Students will also have an introduction to spontaneous theatre and creative risk taking. 
60 minutes. 
Time: Thursdays at 5:30

Let’s Learn about Acting - AGES 13-17 or 18-ADULT
This class is designed for teens and adults who are curious about theatre and need to learn the fundamentals first. If you think theatre sounds like fun and would like to make friends while learning what this acting thing is all about, this is the class for you! 
60 minutes. (This class starts September 29th)
Time: Thursdays at 6:00 AGES 13-17/ Wednesday at 6:00 AGES 18 – ADULT

Stage Make Up – AGES 13-Adult
This class will start with the basics of make up artistry. Students will learn aging techniques, fantasy make up, and 3-D effects! (Supplies included.)
60 minutes. 
Time: Wednesdays at 5:30

Bust a move -Ages 18+ 
Are you always nervous for that dance audition? Are you uncomfortable with body movement? Then this is the class for you! Bust a move, will focus on basic footwork and creative movement while also providing good healthy exercise.
60 minutes.

STAGE 2
Discovering Musical Theatre & Characterization
These classes require a prerequisite from STAGE 1 or permission from the Teaching Artist.
 
Showtime – AGES 6-8 
This class is geared to get your students ready for a production. Your students will learn how to be a part of a cast from auditions to tech week. They will explore what it takes to make the production process a success. Classes will explore musicals and straight plays. The last class is a showcase performance for friends and family.
60 minutes. 
Time: Thursdays 5:30

Let the Games Begin – AGES 9-12 
This class will use theatre improv and theatre games to teach the importance of teamwork and overcoming obstacles, all within a supportive and theatrical environment. Characterization activities will be taught in a Theatrical game environment.
60 minutes.
Time: Wednesdays at 5:00

 Let’s Learn About Musical Theatre – AGES 9-12
This class is for acting students who are curious about musicals and love to sing. This class will help your student select the proper material for auditions and will strengthen their individual performance level needed to become a competitive musical theatre actor. Each student will gain confidence through group singing activities selected from popular Broadway musicals. 
60 Minutes

I Want to Be in Musicals – AGES 13-17 or 18+
Are you interested in auditioning for a musical, but you just don’t have the confidence? This class is a great way to get over your butterflies and work in a group setting. Each student will select a song and work with a musical theatre instructor to get your selection audition ready!
90 minutes.
Time: TBA -- AGES 13-17 / TBA -- 18-Adult

Giving a Great Audition – AGES 13 +     
So you learned the fundamentals and you want to learn how to audition and get cast in a play? Then this is your next step from choosing a monologue to the art of cold reading, we will help you prepare yourself for a successful audition process! 
60 minutes. 
Time: Mondays at 5:30 
COST: $100.00 (Includes resume building tools and one head shot)

Improv Acting and Performance - AGES 13-17
Great for the aspiring film actor or stage, this class will provide teens with training in improvisation and its use in actor training, character development, scene studies, and play rehearsal. The class will develop the student's ability to act with spontaneity and become a team player in a creative environment.
60 minutes

Let’s Play – AGES 18 +
This Class is for the Acting student who would like to play with scene work and learn how to tell a truthful story on stage. Students will be introduced to scripts that will help engage them in theatrical play, while teaching fundamentals such as blocking and how to read a script.
Time: Wednesdays at 6:30
COST: $80

STAGE 3
 
Advanced Acting & Workshops
These classes require a prerequisite from STAGE 1 and STAGE 2 
or permission from the Teaching Artist.
 
Characters and Dialects – AGES 16+
Focus will be on the importance of building a complete character background. Actors will learn the fundamentals of the British dialect as well as learning speech exercises that will aid in future performances that require dialect changes. Students will be given a scene or monologue to work on to perform during the final classes using the characters they have been developing.
60 minutes
Time: Thursdays at 6:45

The Script Club – AGES 21 + 
This group will be following current Players Guild Theatre productions to discuss the play, learn how to critique scripts, observe select rehearsals, watch a public performance of the play, and participate in a group post play discussion.
60 minutes, (a separate schedule will follow for rehearsal observation, watching the performance and post show discussion.)
Cost: $90.00
Time:  Thursdays at 6:00 (meeting monthly)

 The Actor's Imagination AGES 18+ 
This class is designed for the artist who is looking to explore his/her unique creativity and imagination.  We will utilize different means of story telling, movement, ensemble work, mask work, and other exercises to develop a practicable process for each individual artist and the class as a whole. This work will make you a more truthful and powerful performer.
60 minutes
Time – Wednesdays at 5:30
Cost: $90.00

Viewpoints- AGES 18 +
This class is for the actor who is interested in and is passionate about working in an ensemble environment to tell new and meaningful stories.  Through the movement and physical work of Viewpoints, we will develop a common vocabulary dealing with time and space as it relates to the theatre.  Both the individual actor and the ensemble will learn to develop an awareness that leads to work that is personal, layered, and rich in texture.
90 minutes
