Caryl Crane Children's Theatre is presenting the Broadway Musical Hairspray, February 23rd  – March 4th in the McBride Auditorium at BGSU Firelands College. Set in the early 1960s Baltimore, Hairspray tells the story of plus-sized Tracy Turnbladt who dreams of being a featured dancer on TV...and getting the guy of her dreams. The ultimate feel-good show, Hairspray is a toe-tapping romp which presents a life-affirming message that it’s okay to be different. Different is good!  

Featuring 56 students from 18 area schools, Hairspray is directed by Caryl Crane Children's Theatre Artistic Director Brian Marshall, and plays on the McBride Stage in the North Building on BGSU Firelands Campus. Tickets range from $4-$9 and can be purchased at the BGSU Firelands Box Office or by calling 419-372-0747. Box office for Hairspray opens Monday February 20th at 1:00 p.m. 

Recommended for children age 8 and up, Hairspray is filled with fun, music and good humor, not to mention an important a lesson underneath the surface. The idea that the true character of a person is defined by inner qualities rather than outer ones like skin color, dress size...or hairdo! Rated PG.
