On Monday, March 5, FIRST MONDAYS invites you to meet the Monaghans

They’re an Irish American sibling family – five brothers and sisters in
their 70s and 80s, all unmarried and still living in the house they were
born in. South side Irish they are and set in their ways.

But like it or not, change is coming. Their niece Ada Clare, God bless her,
has been seeing to their needs for many years. And hasn’t she gone and
taken up with a fancy lawyer from Washington, DC? Of course the family is
set against him, except for Annie. She keeps remembering the boy she loved
back in the day and the life she might have had if her brother Ned hadn’t
interfered.

With this one for him and that one against him, the house is in an uproar.
There’s no telling what will happen next so you’d better come see for
yourself on Monday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Judson Manor. That’s 1890 East
107th Street in the shadow of the “Church of the Holy Oil Can” – you know
the one – University Circle United Methodist Church at the corner of Euclid
and MLK.

If you’re still confused, just make your way to 107th and Chester. Judson
is just off Chester at 107th. But for God’s sake, don’t go up the hill to
Judson Park. That’s the wrong place entirely and you’ll find nothing there
in the way of play readings.

There’s some fine acting to be seen and heard – with the likes of Robert
Hawkes, Bernice Bolek, Alan Zeilinger, Linda Ryan and Marcia Mandell reading
all the parts. And admission is only $5 at the door. We know you’re good
for it. You’re parking free, after all, in a gated lot just steps away from
the Judson Manor lobby.
