ArtsPrep Dance Academy

 

The ArtsPrep Dance Academy, taught by the area's top professional dance
instructors, provides classes that emphasize discipline, commitment,
focus and fun!  Classes include instruction in modern, ballet and
performance:

 

Summer Dance Camps

 

Junior Dance Camp (Ages: 4 - 7)  

June 11 - June 16, 2012        Price: $200 ($175 if you register before
June 1, 2012)

Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. & Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00
noon

Our littlest students will experience a week of summer fun through the
joy of dance.  While playing creative games and exploring the way their
bodies move, they will be introduced to fundamental movement concepts.
Students will showcase the highlights of their week in a performance on
Saturday, June 16th at Noon.

 

NEW THIS SUMMER! Youth Dance Camp is two weeks!  

 

Youth Dance Camp (Ages: 8 - 12)

 June 11 - June 23, 2012       Price: $300 ($225 if you register before
June 1, 2012)

Monday - Friday, 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. & Saturday June 23, 10:00 a.m. -
12:00 noon

Step into the world of dance for two weeks of fun!  Each day, students
will train as a dancer would in the fundamentals of ballet and modern
dance and also explore their creativity through choreography &
improvisation.  In addition, dancers will have the opportunity to try
out other dance genres throughout the two weeks with special classes
such as jazz, hip-hop, and/or world dance forms.  Students will showcase
the highlights of their week in a performance on Saturday, June 23rd at
Noon.

 

All Dance Programs held at Tri-C Metro Campus unless otherwise noted.

 

 

ArtsPrep Music Academy

 

>From classical piano, to jazz or rock and roll, classes and individual
instrument lessons examine all aspects of music:  music reading,
development of technical skills, sense of rhythm, and all of the
elements that contribute to a successful performance. 

 

Summer with the Jazz Masters (Ages: 12 - 18)

Wednesday,  July 11 - Friday, July 20, 2012         Price: $300 ($225 if
you register before June 1, 2012)

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Spend part of the summer with Jazz Masters.  Keep your chops up this
summer by enrolling in an eight-day summer session at Tri-C's Center for
the Creative Arts.  Directed by Steve Enos, Summer with the Jazz Masters
includes theory and improvisation, combos, big band, listening sessions
and concerts. A limited number of scholarships are available.

 

Participating Artists include: Dominick Farinacci, trumpet; Roger
Humphries, drums; Kris Bowers, piano; Ernie Krivda, tenor saxophone.

Strings Attached (an ArtsPrep T.O.P. program) (Ages: 9 - 18)

July 23-August 3, 2012         Price: $350 ($275 if you register before
June 1, 2012)

Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

This program provides violin, viola, cello and bass students a fun
opportunity to polish their instrumental skills in Orchestra rehearsals
and create their own music, while incorporating journals, storytelling
and poetry. Student teams work together to create a performance piece
with original words and music, as well as perform in Orchestra.  Cost
includes daily lunch.  Dianna Richardson, Artistic Director.

The same great program by the same great instructors presented at Tri-C
West Campus for the first time.

T.O.P. Suzuki Program (for Beginning Strings Students)

This new program will be taught by certified Suzuki instructors of the
highest caliber.  Enrollment for Fall 2012 is now being accepted, and
students will be admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Call

Rock Off Academy

ArtsPrep is developing classes with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for
High School rockers to learn the ins and outs of the music business.
You'll have the opportunity to learn how to record slammin' tracks in a
world-class studio, tips on how to market your product, and instruction
on how to develop your skills in creating music.  Check in for details

For ages four to adult, private lessons work toward the mastery of
instrumental or vocal techniques. Instruction is available on all three
main campuses for most instruments including piano, voice, guitar, bass,
drums, strings, brass, and woodwinds instruments.   Piano and strings
can also be presented in French, Italian, and Russian.

ArtsPrep Theatre Academy

 

In the ArtsPrep Theatre Academy students can explore the exciting world
of the theatre through courses taught by top artists in the industry.
Working with industry professionals, students will experience the joy of
live performance through classes in acting, voice and movement, and
character development, followed by a production presented at the end of
the term.

 

Middle School Performing Arts Camp (for students entering 5th-8th grades
in Fall 2012)

June 25-July 7, 2012              Price: $295 ($220 if you register
before June 1, 2012)

 Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. & Saturday July 7th, 10:00 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m.

 (No camp on July 4th)

Help us celebrate 15 years of Tri-C Performing Arts Camps!   This year
this program will produce the Aurand Harris award-winning musical Yankee
Doodle.  Camp runs daily 8:30-am - 3pm. Acting, singing, dancing,
improvisation, fight and physical comedy choreography, and a full show.
Final performance on Saturday, July 7th at 3pm.   

 

High School Performing Arts Camp (for students entering 8th-12th grades
in Fall 2012)

July 9-July 28, 2012               Price: $345 ($270 if you register
before June 1, 2012)

Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. & Saturday July 28th, 10:00 a.m.
- 3:00 p.m.

Who Murdered William Shakespeare? Was there ever a William Shakespeare?
Help us celebrate 15 years of Tri-C Performing Arts Camps and find out!
This year the High School program will produce the hit Teen musical The
Great American Shakespeare Musical Murder Mystery.  The most complete
and exciting performing arts experience we've offered yet.  Shakespeare
scenes with backstage drama, dancing, music, stage combat, and a
"murder" too! Campers write the ending of this very funny who-done-it.
Beginners or experienced performers will love this!
