*Class Descriptions:*

*Pre-school Classes (Ages 3-5):*

10:00am-11:00am

*Creative Drama*

Teacher: Lydia Chanenka

*Creative Drama* is a unique opportunity to discover each child’s creative
potential using elements of theatre, voice, puppets and movement in a safe,
collaborative environment. Children are encouraged to let their
imaginations soar as they sharpen their abilities to think on their feet
and create characters and situations of their own, based on folk tales and
stories explored in class. Self-Expression and fun are the goals in this
class.

*School Age Classes (Ages 6-11):

*

*Character Creation (Improv**)*

11:00am – 11:55am
Teacher: Liz Huff

Students learn how to create the whole character – from the feet all the
way up to the imagination. These characters – some realistic, some zany,
interact through improvisation and games, with hysterical results!

* *

*Movement for Theatre*

12:00pm – 12:55pm
Teacher: Brittany Gaul

Students learn how to use their bodies to explore the space they are in –
gaining confidence and awareness of how their bodies move and how that
movement can create character and presence on the stage and in the world
around them.

*Acting on Your Feet*

1:00pm – 1:55pm

Teacher: Alison Garrigan, TCT Executive Artistic Director

Through acting, action, vocal exploration and theatre games, students will
learn how to combine voice, body and imagination to explore folktales and
create scenes.

*
Teen Classes (Ages 12-18):*

*Mind and Body Connection*

11:00am – 11:55am
Teacher: Brittany Gaul

This class is rooted in stage technique – with a splash of yoga. Students
go on an in-depth discovery of how their bodies move and gain physical
awareness and stage presence through text, vocalization, and physical
activity.

*Acting Through International Storytelling*

12:00pm – 12:55pm
Teacher: Lisa Ortenzi

This class will explore basic acting techniques, using characters and
stories surrounding universal themes from around the world. Students will
explore the ideas of space, voice and movement, character development and
expression through the art of storytelling. Stories and scripts will
present themes that will find relevance with young people. Students should
wear comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle and snack and be prepared to
move each week.

*Do You Quarrel, Sir?*

1:00pm – 1:55pm

Teacher: Khaki Hermann

*Do You Quarrel, Sir?* is a fun and safe way to explore the conflicts
within Shakespeare and other classic dramas while also learning about the
arc of scenes, acting those dramatic moments and safely performing stage
combat. Emphasis will be put primarily on the safety of the students, with
the integrity of the acting coming second. Students can look forward to
(non-contact) hand to hand combat, tumbling and some of the best dramatic
dialogue ever written.

*Improvisation*

1:00pm – 1:55pm

Teacher: Aaron Patterson

Students create their own improvisational world, using the acting tricks
of the trade, and learning what makes good improv really tick. They will
learn timing, arc, and story-telling through interactive improvisational
exercises and games.
