I don't know Mr. Miller.  I know Aimee Collier slightly from auditions and
having seen her work.

I am disappointed by the language that Mr. Miller chose to use toward Ms.
Collier in the recent discussion on the list about auditions.

I can't see how Ms. Collier's reasoned, respectful response to Mr. Miller
in any way justifies the vitriol and ad hominem attack with which he
responded.

As I see it, Mr. Miller made a gratuitous attack on Scott Spence, when
neither Mr. Spence nor the Beck Center was in any way involved in the
incident that precipitated the discussion.  Ms. Collier responded
reasonably in a distinctly positive tone.

Mr. Miller's response was in language ill suited to the open, communal,
sharing of information and ideas that Fred Sternfeld has promoted since the
founding of the list.

I wonder if Mr. Miller would have used such coarse, cowardly, gender
specific language were Ms. Collier not a woman.

Aimee, I apologize that expressing your opinion resulted in you being
insulted.  You, and the rest of the readers of this list, deserve better.

I also hope that, as busy as Fred and his volunteer associates are, that
the kind of language that was used by Mr. Miller in this exchange would be
reason enough to not post such communications on Neohiopal.
