THE HYACINTH MACAW by Mac Wellman now onstage at convergence-continuum is
also lyrical, beautiful, weird and wonderful!

A mysterious stranger, Mr. William Hard, from The Land of Evening arrives
at a family's home in the town of Gradual with news that the family father
is a "duplicate" and must be replaced by the stranger himself. He also
claims that the moon is sick and dying. What are Ray and Dora (the
family's slightly uneasy American parents) and their precocious teenage
daughter Susannah to make of this? And what's all this stuff about Mad Wu
the Chinaman? Mac Wellman's surreal/absurdist 'The Hyacinth Macaw'
presents a strange comedy contained inside a sumptuous linguistic
adventure.

"weirdly entertaining" "crisp humor" "encrusted with whiplash images"
"elegantly demonstrates how life feels in an illogical world embedded in a
mysterious universe" --Christine Howey, Cleveland Scene. (Full review at
