“Wishes...Just A Dream Away” is an adventure that follows ayoung boy, who unexpectedly takes the trip of a lifetime. During this wildride, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery which shows him that the wonderof life never fades for those who believe.“Wishes...Just A Dream Away” is a musical event that spans over seven decadesof classic songs, from a variety of great family shows, including Shrek, TheAddams Family, The Little Mermaid, Suessical, Beauty and The Beast, TheMuppets, The Newsies, Tarzan, Mary Poppins, and many more. “Wishes...Just ADream Away” will beckon you to sing along and join in the adventure. Expect tobe amazed by the spectacular visual effects, and touched by the nostalgic andheart-warming message. “Wishes...Just A Dream Away” may just be the fulfillmentof all your childhood wishes and much more. Brought to life with an energetic20 person cast, full of explosive dancing and spectacular singing as they taketo the stage in this all-new musical adventure. 

Performances:
June 1st – June 24th (4 weekends)
Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00pm
Sundays at 2:30pm

Rehearsals begin the week of April 22nd (6 weekrehearsal period)

Auditioninfo:
Sunday., April 15th - 7:00, 8:00 or 9:00pm
Monday, April 16th - 7:00, 8:00 or 9:00pm

Callbacks: Tuesday, April. 17th 7:00 – 10:00pm

Please prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre songthat best shows off your range & abilities. Please bring music in thecorrect key. Accompanist will be provided.

IMPORTANT: ALL conflicts MUST be written on youraudition application.

Cast: Approx. 20 (14 Adults / 4-6 Children) 

Roles Available: 
Boy – Age: 8-12. Title character, who is theleading man in WISHES, and onstage almost the entire show. This role calls fora strong singer / actor / dancer. In the show, the boy is unexpectedly taken ona magical journey to a world he has never dreamed of. Role of boy has numeroussolo songs, duets and more. Boy should be very energetic, outgoing, and notscared to fly! 

Pirate Captain – A legendary Pirate Captain who isthe first character the boy is introduced to on his journey. Age: 20’s-30’s,manly and genuine, with a strong physical presence. His emotional strengthcreates a yearning for the boy to explore this new world. Needs to be a goodmover, energetic and outgoing. Solo songs for the Pirate Captain include “Seizethe Day” & “Strangers like Me”. Also sings parts in “Go The Distance” and“Rainbow Connection”. 

Princess – Age: late teens – 20’s. A vibrant,intelligent beauty with an ethereal quality. During the show, she teaches theboy that change comes from within. Role should be played very honest &nurturing to the boy. Solo songs for the princess include “A Change In Me” andduet “Somewhere Out There” with the boy. Also sings parts in “Go The Distance”and “Rainbow Connection”. 

Gospel Vocalist – Age: 20’s-60’s, Very Gospel /Jazz feel vocally. A clever and eccentric character, that is full of wisdom.Character is almost magical in the presence they bring on stage. Verymotherly/protective to the boy, especially near the end of the show. Solo songsfor the gospel vocalist include “Consider Yourself” and “Dig a Little Deeper”.Also in “Go The Distance” and “Rainbow Connection”. 

Female Villain – Age: 20’s-40’s. Possesses greatmagic - So much so, that people occasionally go to her for help, in which shealways schemes to gain personally from it. She becomes jealous of the magicthat is guiding the boy on his journey, and attempts to stop the boy fromcontinuing on. Solo song for the villain includes “Poor Unfortunate Souls”. Shealso sings in “Rainbow Connection”. 

Female Featured Soloist (Mermaid) - Soloist songwill be “Part of your World”. Role will be ensemble the remainder of the show. 

Male Featured Soloist – Soloist songs will include”The Moon and Me”, “Under the Sea” and “Bein’ Green”. Role will be ensemble theremainder of the show. 

8 Adult Ensemble roles – 
Singing / dancing roles that will be playing avariety of characters in several songs. "WISHES" will have 10-12ensemble numbers, so the ensemble will be utilized heavily to move the storyalong. Ensemble should move well, be very energetic and out- going. Severalfeatured vocal parts and choreography will be handed out to ensemble. 

3-5 Child Ensemble roles - 
Singing/dancing roles, where each child will play avariety of characters in the show. Children should move well, be very energeticand out- going.
