Stardust Dinner Theatre Announces:
AUDITIONS FOR THE MURDER MYSTERY MUSICAL

“Just Killing Time in Vegas” written by Jeffery Yamokoski
Directed By: Dawn Sniadak-Yamokoski
Synopsis:
In the glitzy and extravagant city of Las Vegas, fame and riches can be seen from every street corner of the glamorous Strip.  But, at the unseemly and less well-known casino, Nero's Castle, this wealth has been much harder to come by.  That fact, however, has not dampened the overriding desires of the staff and management of this third-rate casino.  They have all come to the Nevada desert for their shot at unimaginable prosperity and are willing to achieve it at any cost.

Come join us for a evening of Las Vegas style dining and musical entertainment.  Meet the employees of Nero's Castle and witness their fervent drive to achieve stardom. Perhaps, it will be these very desires that will lead them to commit an unthinkable sin right in the heart of Sin City itself.

The saying goes "What happens in Vegas. Stays in Vegas," but crimes must be solved, even when you are "Just Killing Time in Vegas."

Please have a one minute monologue and two contrasting song memorized (From the musical theater rep or big band), also you  may be asked to read from the script.  Please bring a headshot and resume.

We will be casting both main stage characters and understudies!!!! (There will be a small stipend for Principal Roles Only)  There will be no equity contracts available at this time.

Rehearsals will start April 30, 2012 and are only Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7-9pm and possibly one or two Sunday afternoons. (As needed) The show will open June 1st and will rununtil July 13th (FRIDAYS ONLY) There will NOT be a show on July 6th.

Character Breakdown: 


The Boss (early 40’s and up) singer- The owner of Nero’s Castle...  He is tough, arrogant and your typical Mob guy.

Deano Martini (late 30’s and up) singer – A Dean Martin impersonator, a womanizer and is just dying to become partner with The Boss.  He loves his ladies and his martinis all day long.

Rouletta Wheels (20’s and up) singer/dancer- She would push her best friend down the stairs if it got her the lead.  Beautiful and knows what she wants…to be the headliner of Nero’s castle

Nicollet Teen (early 20”s and up) singer- Fresh off the farm, sweet and innocent, all she has dreamed about is coming to Vegas and performing.

Karolyn Merlot- (30’s and up)-  Singer -Marylyn Monroe impersonator and Deano Martini’s girlfriend and is dying to get out of Vegas and take Deano with her to start their own act.

Sylvester O’ Hand – (early 20’s and up)- singer-  The magician, well tries to be, he isn’t very good, but is sweet and kind, a people pleaser and just wants his chance to become the headliner and would do anything to make that dream happen.

Richard Tracy- (30’s and up) The detective, or is he?  Tough and mysterious……
 
Toga Boy/Girl (Age 18 and Up) Looking for two people with strong, singing, dancing and improv skills for these parts.
