Cassidy will be holding auditions for its production of *GYPSY*.

*Gypsy* is the ultimate story about an aggressive stage mother. Join Rose,
June and Louise in their trip across the United States during the 1920’s,
when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born. Jule Styne’s music and
Stephen Sondheim’s lyrics include *Let Me Entertain You, Some People,
Everything’s Coming Up Roses, You Gotta Get a Gimmick*and *Together
Wherever We Go.* This is a gripping story of one of the most frightening
aspects of show business.



*Performance Dates: *June 8th-24th

Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm

Sundays at 3pm



*Auditions for GYPSY*:
Sunday, April 15th 3pm-6pm

Monday , April 16th 7:30 pm-9pm
Tuesday April 17th  7:30pm-9pm



-Please prepare one up-tempo song and one ballad. Everyone auditioning must
have sheet music in the correct key. No a capella singing. Songs do not
have to be from the show, but that is acceptable also.

-A monologue is not required.

-Dress to move.
-Bring any and all conflicts up to and including the show weeks.

-Please have a resume and head shot the theatre may keep.  Include former
director's names and list 2 references.



*Character Descriptions *(Ages in parentheses)*:*

Mama Rose: (35-45) an overbearing stage mother

Baby June: (7-10) her starlet daughter

Baby Louise: (8-11) June’s neglected sister

Herbie: (40-60) the daughters’ manager and agent

June: (15-20) grown-up; runs away with Tulsa

Louise: (15-21) grown-up; has hidden talents that are discovered only after
June runs away

Tulsa: (18-25) a dancing boy in love with June

Mazeppa, Electra & Tessie: (18-32) striptease artistes

Newsboys: (7-14) Baby June’s backing group

Farmboys: (15-25) June’s backing group
