Cassidy will be holding auditions for its production of *Arsenic & Old Lace*,
directed by new-comer Jenna Messina.

This is a farcical dark comedy revolving around skeletons in the closet.
Mortimer Brewster , a drama critic, must deal with his crazy, homicidal
family and local police in Brooklyn.  His family includes two spinster
aunts who have taken to murdering lonely old men by poisoning them; a
brother who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt and digs locks for the Panama
Canal in the cellar of the Brewster home; and a murderous brother who has
received plastic surgery performed by an alcoholic accomplice, Dr. Einstein.

Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm

Sundays at 3pm

Sunday, April 22nd 7pm-10pm
Tuesday, April 24th 7pm-10pm

Wednesday, April 25th 7pm-10pm

*Audition Requirements:*

-Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.   Monologues are
welcome, but not necessary.

-Rehearsals will begin in late June or early July (there will be no or
limited rehearsals the week of July 4 th).

-Please bring a list of all conflicts (or potential conflicts) to note them
on your audition form.

ABBY BREWSTER
MARTHA BREWSTER: (50+) Aunts of Mortimer Brewster
MORTIMER BREWSTER: (25+) Theatre critic and nephew of Martha and Abby
JONATHAN BREWSTER: (30+): Older nephew, bearing a resemblance to Boris
Karloff

TEDDY BREWSTER: (25 +) Thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt

DR. EINSTEIN: (40+) Alcoholic surgeon (German accent preferred)
THE REV.   DR. HARPER: (50+) The Brewster’s next-door neighbor
ELAINE HARPER: (21+) Rev. Dr. Harpers’ daughter, Mortimer’s love interest
OFFICER O’HARA: (30+) Cop and playwright (Brooklyn accent preferred)
LT. ROONEY: (40+) Precinct boss   (Brooklyn accent preferred)
OFFICER BROPHY: (35+) Veteran cop (Brooklyn accent preferred)
OFFICER KLEIN: (21+) Rookie (Brooklyn accent preferred)
MR. WITHERSPOON:   (40+) Superintendent of a sanitarium
