RUST BELT THEATRE  COMPANY ANNOUNCES:

AUDITIONS FOR a collection of 10-15 minute comedies and farces by
award-winning playwright and director Michael Dempsey, previously produced
in New York City, Los Angeles, Actors Theatre of Louisville and elsewhere.

Come be part of the ensemble, play multiple roles, and in general have a
blast!

AUDITIONS:  Sunday, May 5th and Monday, May 6th @ 7:00 PM at the Rust Belt
Theater Company

PERFORMANCES: August 17, 18, 24, 25

Plays include:

UNABRIDGED: A couple about to get married decide to go bungee-jumping as a
test of their commitment.

ILLEDGEBLE: New York real estate has never been wilder. How much would it
cost to sublet a ledge?  (And how many people can you fit on a ledge in 15
minutes?)

LEAVE IT AT THE OFFICE: A health inspector, gynecologist, food addict
counselor and a very angry mime find it difficult to put away their
professions at dinner in a swanky NY restaurant.

THE PERFECTION OF STRANGERHOOD: A man and a woman at a high school reunion
find a moment of kinship. Do they know each other or not?

ABOUT MICHAEL DEMPSEY:

Michael has written, acted and directed in theater, television and film in
New York, Los Angeles, Louisville, Cleveland and other venues across the
country.  As a writer, Michael wrote for network television in the 90s,
most notably CBS’s Cybill starring Cybill Shepherd.  His plays have been
produced in New York, Los Angeles, Washington and regionally in theaters
such as Actors Theatre of Louisville.

 Michael's first novel, Necropolis, was released nationally in October by
Night Shade Books.

As an actor, Ohio appearances include The Seagull, 1776, and Fiddler On The
Roof  at the Beck Center for the Arts, Fiddler at Cain Park, Baby at True
North Cultural Arts Center (for which he received a Times Newspaper Theatre
Tribute 2010 Outstanding Performance Award) , and Macbeth at The Youngstown
Playhouse.  Recent local directing efforts include Into The Woods at Salem
Community Theatre, Curtains and Macbeth at the Youngstown Playhouse, I Am
My Own Wife at Oakland Center for the Arts, and Jesus Christ Superstar at
the Players Guild of Canton and also at Salem Community Theatre.

Michael studied acting at Ohio State University, Actors Theatre of
Louisville and Cornell University.  Michael was one of twelve American
actors selected for a Shakespearean Acting Programme with the National
Theatre of Great Britain and the Royal Shakespeare Company.  A member of
the Writer’s Guild of America, the Dramatist's Guild and The Science
Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, Michael’s a past recipient of an
Ohio Arts Council Fellowship for playwriting.
