MadSkillz – Hip Hop Improv Workshop:

This 2 session workshop focuses on using Hip-Hop/Rap in an improv show. Dave Ries, former producer/performer with The Beatbox Chicago, will teach freestyle techniques and short form rap games. This class will help the longform and shortform improviser alike. Previous improv training (i.e. a level one improv class) is a requirement, as this session will not cover general scene work. Beatboxers encouraged.

Dave Ries has been improvising for more than a decade. Before moving back to Ohio, he performed and taught at Chicago’s ComedySportz, The Beatbox, The IO Theater, and The Playground Theater. Prior to that, he was a founding member of The Idiot Box Comedy Club in Greensboro, NC. Currently, he can be seen performing at the Big Dog Theater with “Torque…Full Throttle Improv”, and his upcoming project “DADS”.
