The Akron Chapter Barbershop Harmony Society Derbytown Chorus, under the direction of Scott Giles, will perform “How the West Was Sung” on the Medina Performing Arts Center Main Stage, Saturday, May 5 at 7p.

Come along and take this delightful magical and musical journey through the Old West, with a bevy of wonderful and popular historic songs. You have heard them before, but never as they were sung along the legendary Chisholm Trail from Texas to Kansas. This theme lends itself to a most entertaining story line. When the curtain goes down after the last act, you will have a warm heart, a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

This a cappella Western Extravaganza will also feature guest quartet 4-Way Stop. The 2008 Johnny Appleseed District Quartet Champions consist of three members with Medina connections, Mike Wright (Tenor), Ryan McDivitt (Bass) and Robbie Churgovich (Lead). Completing the quartet is Baritone Joe Downey.

Tickets are $7 each and may be purchased by calling the Medina Performing Arts Center box office at 330.636.3400.
