[NEohioPAL] LILLIAN PYLES CASTING/FILM AUDITIONS

ScenariosUSA, a national non-profit organization that uses writing and film to foster youth leadership, is holding exclusive auditions for the short film, "Speechless". ScenariosUSA's short films have been shown on major cable networks like Showtime and The Movie Channel. Specifically they have worked with recognized directors and producers (such as Ross Thurber from Ben Stiller's "Dodge Ball", and Malcolm Lee, director of "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins" and "The Best Man" amongst others), that offer their expertise in a real filmmaking experience. There are roles in "Speechless" for the following:
 
 
CAUCASIAN TEEN MALE (scrawny teen)
Desmond Denison about 16, Caucasian male bright eyes and the tendency to be quiet.
 
 
CAUCASIAN TEEN FEMALE (skinny, quieter older sister)
Alicia Denison, Desmond’s older sister, is thin with long hair and a soft voice that she doesn’t raise unless she believes firmly in what she’s saying.
 
 
CAUCASIAN ADULT MALE (good supportive dad)
Mark, Desmond’s Father. Middle-aged single dad, very understanding and caring but no push-over.
 
 
CAUCASIAN TEEN MALE (student athlete)
Christian Cox, Alicia’s boyfriend, about 17 male, Caucasian seems like the kind of boy every father wishes his son could be. He’s athletic, handsome and is very good with his words but clearly has a dark side.
 
 
ETHNIC TEEN FEMALE (quiet but empowering)
Eliza Withers, Desmond’s friend, about 16 can be any race, is that kid that when you hear her name, you automatically go, "Who is she"? She’s forgettable but doesn’t really care what people think when they see her.
 
 
NON-DESCRIPT ADULT FEMALE (middle aged woman)
Detective Avery is a plump middle aged woman who cares very much about her job and her appearance. You will never catch her without makeup on or her hair done up. She is very passionate about justice because as a child, she witnessed the unfairness of the law.
 
 
ETHNIC ADULT MALE (good supporting teacher type)
Mr. Hernandez – Desmond’s Spanish teacher. Middle-aged and good at his job.
 
 
AFRICAN-AMERICAN MALE OR FEMALE (stern Judge type)
Judge Peterson (Male or Female) is an experienced African American Judge who has spent his/her life working.
 
 
NONDESCRIPT, ALL ETHNICITY TEEN MALE (bully-type)
Harry, a bully classmate and enemy of Desmond
 
 
NONDESCRIPT, ALL ETHNICITY TEEN FEMALE (typical high school sassy girlfriend)
Harry's Girlfriend, sassy classmate who always sides with Harry
