announces auditions
for the Cleveland premiere of *Kid Mystery* by Matt Larsen
directed by Sarah Greywitt




Casting 2 women, ages 18-30ish

2 men, ages 18-30ish

1 man or woman to play the teacher, age 30+
All ethnicities are encouraged to audition.

*Synopsis:*  Friends work together to thwart the plot of an evil classmate
with the help of the masked detective, Kid Mystery.   The villain poses a
series of challenges
that Kid Mystery asks the audience’s help to solve.

*Audition Date:* Saturday, May 19, 1-4pm or by appointment
Callback TBA

*Audition Location*:  Cleveland Public Library’s Carnegie West Branch in
Ohio City
1900 Fulton Road, Cleveland, Ohio

 Prepare one comedic monologue; you may be asked read sides from the script.

Please bring a headshot and resume.  If you don't have a headshot,
we can take a snapshot at the audition.



*Performance Dates:*  Saturdays, June 23 at 11:30am* and June 30 at 2:00pm*

*Performance Location:*  Market Square Park, West 25th and Lorain Avenue in
Ohio City



There is some pay, but no AEA contracts are available.



 *Character Descriptions:
*MS./MR. GRAPE: A slightly befuddled schoolteacher who adores her/his
students and her/his lessons.



MISSY KIDMAN / KID MYSTERY: A fiercely bright school girl who knows she
must sometimes break the rules to fight for what is right.



HUGO BOWLER: A rich kid whose arrogance is matched only by his hunger for
equality, he would be devastated to learn that the closest person in the
world to him, MISSY KIDMAN, is in fact KID MYSTERY.



TAD HUFF: The skinny kid who is constantly hungry, always in motion and
boyishly smitten with KID MYSTERY, unaware that MARY POST might have other
designs on him.



MARY POST: A reformed criminal crayon eater who admires and fears KID
MYSTERY and holds a torch for TAD HUFF.
