34TH Annual Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival - A Dobama tradition,
the MBKPF celebrates its 34TH year! Over 250 plays were written and
submitted by kids throughout Cuyahoga County, grades 1 - 12. Dobama actors
and designers will present staged readings of selected winning scripts. The
outcome is three joyful days of original storytelling, imaginative dialogue
and delightful characters as created by kids. Dedicated to the memory of
Marilyn Bianchi, the festival is the nation's first event of its kind,
encouraging kids to celebrate the fun and joy of live theatre.

Dobama Young Playwrights Competition (NEW!) - Running parallel to the Kids'
Festival is the Dobama Young Playwrights Competition (DYPC) for grades 6-12.
The program has a mission to identify, cultivate, promote, and motivate
young playwrights in the pre-professional phase of their careers through the
process of working with theatre professionals and the experience of seeing
their words come to life on stage in a professional production.

The professional acting ensemble for both productions includes Thayer
Juergens, Joe Dunn, Robert Hawkes, Sidney Perelman, Thomas Burke, Katie
Wilkinson, Maryann Elder, Dominique Paramore, and Natalie Phillips.
