CANTON CHARGE DANCE COORDINATOR


POSITION
OVERVIEW: Under
the direction of the Manager, Marketing & Game Presentation, the PT Dance Team
Coordinator will serve as the point person for all aspects of the Canton Charge
Girls Dance Team. The Coordinator will serve as the Coach, Coordinator and
Choreographer and work side-by-side with the Manager, Marketing & Game
Presentation to develop and execute a successful dance team program. The
ultimate goal of this position is to create enthusiastic, energetic, and
high-performance dance teams in keeping with optimum NBA standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
* Schedule and manage all rehearsals in accordance with the available budget.
* Schedule and supervise all team workouts.
* Manage, communicate and coach team throughout the year, and stage-manage and direct team on game days.
* Creative conceptualizing of costuming and music.
* Choreograph performance material.
* Develop performance squad.
* Work with Manager of Marketing & Game Presentation to seek and book external appearances.
* Work with Manager of Marketing & Game Presentation to develop and maintain Canton Charge Girl's corporate partners.
* Attend, manage and oversee all aspects of approved appearances including music, attire, invoicing and expense reports.
* Work with Manager of Marketing & Game Presentation to design and attend all photo shoots.
* Coordinator will be expected to communicate with Manager of Marketing & Game Presentation on a weekly, or more often as needed, basis.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:Candidate must have an
extensive dance background that illustrates prior experience with a dance team,
as well as choreography experience in various styles of dance; Minimum of two
years teaching dance with at least one year of teaching adults; Working
knowledge of cheerleading and tumbling; The ability to instruct and critique
routines on a group and individual performance basis, along with an ability to
accept and implement input from Cleveland Cavaliers and Canton Charge
management; A total understanding and implementation of the dance team's roles
in and out of Canton Memorial Civic Center; Familiarity with a broad range of
music; ability to recognize and react to “hot” projects; Strong sense of
responsibility and organizational skills, mature management and leadership
skills and the ability to work closely with the Game Presentation team; Ability
to multi-task, be passionate and work under pressure.
