*Talespinner Children's Theatre presents **The Tale of the Name of the Tree*
*
Onstage through July 8*

*The critics are raving about The Tale of the Name of the Tree:*

"There can never be enough children’s theater. Because this is how we teach
little ones the difference between birthday party balloon-twisting clowns
and performers of another ilk. That’s why* everyone with rug rats in their
home should celebrate the opening of Talespinner Children's Theatre.* This
inaugural offering has plenty to recommend it—for sippy-cup users as well
as those who chauffeur the young lads and lasses to their various
entertainments. An hour-long live theater experience that all your back
seat riders will enjoy." – *Christine Howey*

*"Like all good tales,* *The Tale of the Name of the Tree* was simple yet
compelling. *The show was a hit *with my four-year-old, who had no trouble
recounting the plot to his friends after the show. You know the show’s good
when it captivates a 4-year-old’s attention. The rest of the audience
appeared captivated, too. Thanks, TCT, for giving families yet *another
GREAT option for entertainment* in our village called Cle." – *Sarah Valek,
Cool Cleveland*

*The Tale of the Name of the Tree
*Onstage through July 8
Reinberger Auditorium
5209 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44102
Directed by Alison Garrigan
Adapted by Michael Sepesy.

When the animals run out of food, it will take the King of Beasts and a
magical tree to save them – but only if they can remember its name! This
adaptation of a Bantu folktale brings together storytelling, puppets,
masks, percussion, and dance to create a rhythmic, exciting, and entrancing
world. *The Tale of the Name of the Tree *is a universal story – one that
springs from a proud and beautiful cultural origin, it speaks to children
everywhere with themes that are recognizable throughout the world – believe
in yourself and don't judge a book by its cover. This is a celebration of
story-telling that uses elements of style from different parts of the globe
to create a story that reaches out to everyone.

*Audience members are invited to meet the cast and puppets, touch the
costumes and even play the instruments after each performance.*

Performances are June 16th - July 8th
*Showtimes: *Fridays and Saturdays at 2:00pm and 7:00pm, Sundays at 2:00pm
