ArtWorks is Young Audiences ofNortheast Ohio’s multi-disciplinary arts-based job training program. For sixweeks in the summer, high school teens work as apprentices to a master teachingartist in several different art forms (this summer's co-ops include Architecture/Interior Design, Ceramics/3-Ddesign, Dance, Drawing/Painting, Fashion, Film, Installation Art,Poetry/Literary Arts, Recording Arts, Theater, Video Game Design, Video GameProduction, and Vocal Music & Recording. The program isdesigned to teach job skills and higher education preparedness while providinginstruction in the arts. 
 
Lead bymaster teaching artist and local choreographer Michael Medcalf, the dance co-ophas created a 45-minute interactive lecture performance that deals with thetheme of personal identity in a global community, titled The IdentityProject:  Who am I, Who are you, Who are we. This program is more appropriate for 8th-12th grade students.
 
The danceco-op is available for performances throughout Cuyahoga County,Monday – Friday, 9:30am-4:00pm, July 23-27, 2012.
