Sweet Confinementis an award-winning play that finds five people who grew up
together meeting in a familiar bathroom to deal with a gut-wrenching crisis.
They must now confront the actions of the person who has brought them here as
well as the tangled history they all share. Can they handle it? And how will
they ever move on from here?

Audition date: July 16; 7:00pm
Everyone will
audition by reading sides with a partner. The earlier you're there, the more people you'll get to read with. Sides will be provided.
 
Auditions will take place
at Parallax Studio
534 Cleveland Ave.
NW, Canton, OH 44702

Actors will be paid
 
Casting all roles; Men and Women (mid
20’s – mid 30’s)
Character breakdowns:
 
Amy:The central figure in the group, she
is the grounded, stable one who all the friendships/relationships revolve
around. She is the peacekeeper of the group and William’s wife. She is a yoga
teacher and has that quiet, Zen thing about her yet she’s also assertive and
strong and has the ability to be hear-wrenchingly vulnerable.
 
Amelia:Brash and at times abrasive, she is
the most insecure of the crew but hides it with a powerful and aggressive
personality. She is a fierce and loyal friend and would do anything for Amy.
Josh is her Achilles Heel.
 
Ginger:Sees things through rose-colored
glasses at times. She is the helpful one. She wears her heart on her sleeve and
is completely unnerved about the course of the day. She loves her friends and
tries hard to be the one taking care of things whether she succeeds at this or
not.
 
Josh:Amy’s brother and William’s best
friend. He lives in Washington DC now but grew up with the crew. Now a lawyer,
he has successfully been able to navigate his professional life. His personal
life gives him more trouble as he is plagued by the events of this adolescence.
He loves his sister and only wants the best for his friends and family.
 
Caleb:A member of the crew who has also
grown up with everyone and has been in love with Amy since he can remember. A
close friend to all the girls, he has been Amy’s confidant for years, waiting
in the wings for his chance to be her main guy.
