EVENT: Dover Players Presents Doll's House

The Dover Players community theater group is celebrating late summer with a
totally rewritten version of Henrik Ibsen's play, A Doll's House. The
director, Todd Evangelista, modernizes one of the stage's most famous
dramas. Now set in New York in 1931, Thurston Helmer, an upstanding and
moral man, was on the verge of suicide because he was unable to pay his
debts. Unbeknownst to him, his wife, Nora, forged documents to get a loan
from a disreputable man named Neil Krogstad. Saying that the money came from
her father, Nora paid off her husband's debts and saved his life. Since
then, however, Krogstad has been taking every spare penny she has. Worse,
now that Thurston has a new job at the bank as Krogstad's superior, he plans
to fire Krogstad. Krogstad threatens to turn Nora in to the police for
fraud and forgery if she doesn't save his job. Thurston won't relent,
however, and Nora is trapped in the middle and pushed to the brink of
suicide. Come see this totally new version of the classic play which became
part of the women's rights movement.
