Paid
Gig: Mapleside Farm “Johnny Appleseed Festival”

I
am casting paid performers for Mapleside Farms in Brunswick. We are looking for “American Legends” for the
upcoming Johnny Appleseed Festival from 10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. on Saturday,
September 15th, and from 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 16th. Performers
would be expected to arrive at 9:00 A.M. each day for call. This hour is also
paid. The pay is $11.00 an hour.

Each
performer would have their own area (“stage”) in which to perform for about 5
minutes, approximately 4x an hour. 15 minute breaks will be incorporated
approximately every 2 hours.

Each
performer that is hired will be given a script, background and suggestions for
their performance, which will largely entail storytelling. Creative input from
the performers on script and performance is welcome.

There
will probably be one meeting/rehearsal before the Festival.

Mapleside
is looking for:

A
female (20’s or 30’s) to portray Pocahontas.

A
male (late teens) to portray Huckleberry Finn

An
older male (40’s and up) to portray Mark Twain

A
male (black, 30’s or 40’s) for John Henry

A
male (30’s or 40’s) for Davy Crockett or Daniel Boone.

Annie
Oakley and Paul Bunyan have already been cast.

Actors
should come prepared with a short, light monologue that tells a story. We will be looking for your ability to engage
and connect with your audience.

Auditions are scheduled for Monday, August 20th
at 6:30 p.m. in Melrose Grille which is located at Mapleside. Mapleside Farms
are located at 294 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, Ohio.

Please do not call Mapleside regarding
auditions. Questions should be directed to Elaine Gritti at egritti at msn.com
