*We are very sad to have to share the news of Tedd Burr's passing with
Cleveland's theatre community. Tedd died this morning at his home in
Cleveland Heights. His failing health had become increasingly troublesome
for him. It is remarkable that he retained his vibrant curiosity about
life and theatre, his store of precious memories of his wide-ranging
theatre career, and his beloved devotion to the other arts, primarily
opera, which remained for him a high point of aesthetic pleasure all of his
life.

For those of us who knew Tedd, saw his work, and were fortunate enough to
work with him, he will be remembered always as an actor who invested each
role with detailed, intense preparation and research whose high standards
became an inspiration for the rest of us...Away from the theatre, he was
simply a dear man, a loyal friend, eternally interested in the life of the
arts and its importance to our world.

A memorial remembrance event for Tedd is being planned for the future. *
