*Theater Ninjas Announces 2012-13 Season*
*The seventh season of Cleveland’s leading innovative performance company
features original work, regional premieres and expansive growth for
ambitious young company*

*CLEVELAND (August 30, 2012)* – Theater
Ninjas<http://www.theaterninjas.com>unveils their seventh season this
month, marking the start of big changes
for the critically acclaimed, innovative Cleveland-based theater troupe.
The new expansion features exciting partnerships, new locations and an
expanded staff and board. Theater Ninjas’ seventh season is set to kick off
in September and will run through June of 2013.

“Ever since our first show in 2006, Theater Ninjas has strived to provide
Cleveland with powerful, inventive performance that speaks to different
kinds of audiences,” said Artistic Director Jeremy
Paul<http://theaterninjas.com/about/>.
“This upcoming year not only showcases our strengths–visceral physical
styles, site-specific work, meshing humor and pathos–it also demonstrates
our commitment to providing Clevelanders with experiences that are
out-of-the-ordinary, unforgettable events. From secret societies to
dialogues with famous paintings to philosophical reimaginings of history,
we’re focused on making engaging theater that’s relevant and accessible.”

Theater Ninjas will commence its 2012-13 season with Marble Cities, a
devised work about power and imagination. Following in the spring, a
remount of 2011’s exploration of Pompeii, The
Excavation<http://vimeo.com/38796344>,
will be appearing in conjunction with an exhibition at the Cleveland Museum
of Art<http://www.clevelandart.org/visit/Exhibitions.aspx?pid={93A6A5C2-C6A7-4D79-B31C-AC853CF8782D}&ispopup=1>.
In March 2013, Theater Ninjas and Cleveland Public Theater will co-produce
NICK&JEREMY, a wild ride that reveals secrets of the universe by way of
conspiracy theories, group hypnosis, desperate hope and puppets. The
company closes the season with Telephone, a beautiful labyrinth of language
and humor by lauded poet Ariana Reines.

Theater Ninjas is also proud to announce the addition of Associate Artistic
Director Ray Caspio <http://theaterninjas.com/about/> whose hiring will
allow the company to better manage its increased production and presence in
the Cleveland arts scene. Caspio calls the newly expanded Theater Ninjas a
company “where audience and artists come together to create the most
exciting and extraordinary theatrical experiences. This season is full of
new perspectives, new productions, new venues–The Cleveland Museum of Art
and the Ohio City Masonic Temple–a new look, and a renewed presence that
all adds together to strengthen our belief that theater should speak to all
people, not just the initiated.”

Theater Ninjas’ commitment to creating the original and dynamic site
specific work is showcased this season with three different performance
locations all over the city of Cleveland. Tickets run from $15- $20. For
complete information, please visit www.theaterninjas.com.

Theater Ninjas’ 2012-13 season is generously funded by the citizens of
Cuyahoga County through Cuyahoga Arts and Culture and through the Ohio Arts

Workforce Fellowship award, which has helped make this new season of work
possible.
