Lakewood's Beck Center for the Arts is pleased to announce
auditions for our holiday musical.....
Annie Based on the comic strip "Little Orphan Annie"
Book by Thomas Meehan   Music by Charles Strouse   Lyrics by Martin Charnin
 
Separate audition dates will be held for Children and Adults for this production
which opens Dec. 7th and closes Jan. 6th. Rehearsals will begin in late October.
One or two AEA contracts (Guest Artist) will be available. All actors 18 and over
are paid a stipend for their participation.

"ANNIE" features 7 ORPHAN roles for young actresses, including the title role.
We are looking for young female performers who can pass for between 7 and 12 years                                                                                                          of age. NO children under 7 will be eligible for this production. Older children                                                                                                                       who can realistically pass for 12 are permitted to audition. Children do NOT have to be
enrolled at Beck Center to audition for this production.

between NOON and 4PM. Parents should call 216-521-2540 x10 to make a 5 minute appointment.

PREPARATION: Children are encouraged to prepare one 30 to 60 second song.
Singing to accompaniment is preferred, so please bring sheet music in your
key. An accompanist will be provided. If you do not have sheet music, an "A Capella"                                                                                                    audition is permitted. The rehearsal process will be a busy one and a sizable time commitment.
Parents are encouraged to look at their child's schedule to see if there is ample opportunity to fully                                                                             participate in this project. A sidenote: While "ANNIE" is almost considered cliche' in much of the acting
community, I can tell you from experience that it is actually a) a VERY well-constructed piece of                                                                                     musical theatre and b) an absolute blast to perform from Ensemble to Lead. Don't underrate it!
 
CALLBACKS for both children and adults will occur sometime during the
weekend of Sept. 22nd/23rd.
