Coach House Theatre opens season with

"I Hate Hamlet"

Starring special guest artist Daren Kelly

Directed by Nancy Cates

September 27-October 14, 2012

($12 Preview Performance, Thursday, Sept. 27 only!)

Coach House Theatre will open its 85th season with the charming comedy I
Hate Hamlet, by Paul Rudnick.

A Hollywood TV star (Joe Pine) comes to New York City to perform Hamlet to
beef up his resume. The only problem is, he hates Hamlet! The ghost of
Broadway legend John Barrymore (special guest artist Daren Kelly), the
greatest Hamlet of his generation, is compelled to return from the great
beyond to show the actor the error of his ways.

I Hate Hamlet will be presented Sept. 27 to Oct 14. Curtain times are
Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m.
Dinner or Brunch is available to all theatre patrons prior to every
performance at the Akron Woman's City Club next door.

There will be a special $12 preview performance Thursday, Sept. 27 only, at
8 p.m.

The official opening night is Friday, Sept. 28. Group rates are available.

Our three-week run will likely sell out quickly, so reserve your seats now!

Tickets are $18. The box office opens one hour before the show. Coach House
Theatre is located at 732 W. Exchange Street, in Akron, next to the Akron
Woman's City Club, and at the corner of W. Exchange and N. Portage Path.
Reservations may be made by calling our box office at 330-434-7741, or

He is happy to reprise his role as the Ghost of legendary actor John
Barrymore, which he has performed both at TheatreVirginia and the Ohio
Shakespeare Festival.

Mr. Kelly was last seen in Akron as Garry Essendine in Coach House's hit
2010 production of Present Laughter. He has been featured in four of
Broadway's biggest hits: Deathtrap, Woman of the Year, Crazy for You, and
South Pacific (NYCO). He toured as Julian in the National Revival of 42nd
Street, and as Rev. Moore in Footloose. For many years Daren played soap
opera heartthrob Dan Kennicott on "All My Children." Other television
credits include the entire "Law and Order" franchise, as well as "True
Blood," "M*A*S*H," "Kate and Allie," and "Tales from the Darkside." Daren
has performed Shakespeare, Moliere, Dickens, Chekhov, Shaw, Ibsen, Albee,
Williams, Miller, Guare and Gurney in regional theatres from Alaska to
Florida, and from Maine to California, and he has had the privilege to
perform with Tony Award winners Al Pacino, Richard Kiley, Lauren Bacall,
