The 83rd Season is in full swing!

CVLT's 83rd Season has officially kicked off with the opening of GOD
OF CARNAGE this past weekend! This award-winning comedy is our first
play of the main stage season, following the two successful special
events, Murder by the Falls and Roar of the Greasepaint. We've also
begun the new IMPROV for ACTORS class, and are holding auditions for
the next comedy at River Street. If you've got little ones, you'll
surely want to check out the annual 'Ghosts, Goblins & Gobbledygook'
as well!

If you haven't been a subscriber before, this is a great year to
start... you could be saving over $40! Individual tickets are now on
sale, but subscriptions remain a great way to save money and support
the theater through October 20!

See you soon,
Your Friends at CVLT

OPEN AUDITIONS for Wonder of the World

David Lindsay-Abaire (author of author of Fuddy Meers and Kimberly A-
Kimbo) has a flair for creating quirky but believable characters and
enmeshing them in kooky, unbelievable, entertaining plots. Cass leaves
behind her dull life and husband, fleeing to Niagara Falls. There she
becomes entangled with various neurotics — a heartbroken tour-boat
captain, a half-hearted would-be suicide, a pair of incompetent but
heartless private eyes — all of whom, before the play is over,
discover they are connected in a weird lattice of coincidence.

Directed by Yvonne E. Pilarczyk

Audition Dates:
Sunday, October 7 at 6:00pm in CVLT's 'Red Barn' Annex, 38 River St.,

River St)

This triple-Tony-Award-winning comedy is the story of two pairs of
parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park. They
meet to discuss the matter like civilized adults.

Alan (David Malinowski / Matt Mortensen), is a lawyer who is never off
his mobile phone. His wife, Annette (Evie Koh) is in "wealth
management"... specifically her husband's wealth... and consistently
wears good shoes. The other boy's father, Michael (Mark DePompei), is
a self-made wholesaler with an unwell mother, and his wife, Veronica
(Dawn Hill), is writing a book about Darfur. As the evening goes on,
the meeting degenerates into the four getting into irrational
arguments, and their discussion falls into the loaded topics of
misogyny, racial prejudice and homophobia.

The original Broadway production of God of Carnage was the third-
longest running play of the 2000-2010 decade. A film adaptation by
Roman Polanski appeared in 2011.This hysterical tale of parents
behaving badly was described by The New York Post as "gleefully nasty
fun," and The New York Times hailed it as "first class!"

Veronica's Room

A tale of madness and murder from the author of Rosemary's Baby.

Susan and Larry find themselves guests at the Brabissant mansion. Its
caretakers, struck by Susan's strong resemblance to long-dead Veronica
Brabissant, induce Susan to impersonate Veronica to solace Veronica's
addled sister who still believes Veronica alive.

Once dressed in Veronica's clothes, Susan finds herself locked in the
role and locked in Veronica's room. Or is she Veronica, in 1935,
pretending to be an imaginary Susan?

This nightmare is a perfect thriller for your Halloween season, with a
surprising climax you won't forget!

Starring NATALIE DOLEZAL, BRENDEN BERNS, LISA FREEBAIRN-TARR and CRAIG
GIFFORD.

returning to Chagrin Valley Little Theatre's Main Stage on Saturday
and Sunday, Oct. 20 and 21! This show is intended for little ones ages
3-8.

Kids will watch as "Queenie" and the puppet "Mousie" will present a
fairy tale, our Youth Theatre will present short Halloween 'playlets'
including "Monsters Under The Bed" and "The Little Witches Who Cried
Vampires and Goblins", there will be a "Skeleton Dance", and CVLT's
own Edmond Wolff will play the guitar and sing Halloween songs.

Our usual villain "The Greedy Pumpkin" is back again to taunt the
kids, but "Wanda, the Good Witch" will be there to save the day. As
always, there will be a costume parade for kids on the stage (parents,
bring your cameras!), Halloween treats for everyone, and prizes from
the Pocket of "The Pocket Lady"!

Improv for Actors

September 23 - November 18, 2012
Sundays from 2 - 4:30 PM

Courses in Improv with Tracy Cubbal

Tuition: $150

Buy tickets online at http://www.cvlt.org/82ndSeason/improv.php
or call 440-247-8955

Learn the fundamentals of theatrical and comedic improvisation:
agreement, spontaneity, listening, and character. Actors will improve
their ability to develop characters, make bold choices, listen deeply,
use their bodies effectively, and form connections with emotional
authenticity. Students will rediscover the art of play, learn to
embrace failure, and silence the voice of judgment in their heads.
Previous stage experience is desirable but not required. Tracy Cubbal

Tracy Cubbal has been a fixture of the Cleveland improv scene since
2005. She has studied at the Annoyance, iO, and Second City in Chicago
and performed at venues including Big Dog Theater, Cleveland Public
Theatre's Pandemonium, the Columbus Unscripted Improv Festival, the
Del Close Marathon, the Oberlin College Improv Conference, and
Chicago's Playground Theater. Tracy performs with Point of No Return
Improv in Cuyahoga Falls and with Cleveland's only all-female troupe,
Angry Ladies of Improv.
