[NEohioPAL] Berko: nominations for local theatre awards

Oh heck, this boyo ain't gonna bother to ask them to change. What is this
thing anyway? These electronic, "virtual" awards, orchestrated by this
website all over the country, are just a way to boost our appetite for
believing ourselves associated in some mysterious way with some sort of
glitzy celebrity. I mean, look at it: It's called "Broadway World", for
God's sake. How warped is THAT perspective? Not to disprize the work of any
of my colleagues who have been recognized in this way in the past -
congrats and more power to you - but seriously - donnez-moi un break!

I'm going to try to keep my focus on doing the best work I can do for as
long as I am still able, and on supporting my colleagues as much as my
budget and schedule will allow by putting my butt in seats.

Prizes, schmizes. Smoke and mirrors. John Wayne gets Best Actor. Right.
