*Monday, October 8, 2012 - *Firestone High School's stage parents group
will host a soul food fundraiser dinner Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in
conjunction with the school's performance of "The Color Purple (The Musical
About Love)."



The play runs from Wednesday, Oct. 10, through Saturday, Oct. 13. The soul
food dinner will be offered on Saturday only, with seatings at 5 and 6 p.m.
between the matinee and evening performances of the play.



Dinners of fried chicken, mac-'n'-cheese, green beans, cornbread, pound
cake and lemonade will cost $10 for one, $18 for two or $30 for a family of
four.



Seating is limited, so reservations are required. Proceeds will benefit
theater activities at the high school.



This musical adaptation of Alice Walker's Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel,
"The Color Purple," was only recently made available for amateur and school
performances. Firestone will be one of the first high schools in Ohio to
present the inspiring story about a woman who, through love, finds the
strength to triumph over adversity and discover her unique voice in the
world.



Show times are: 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10; 7:30 p.m.Thursday-Saturday, Oct.
11-13; and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.



General admission tickets cost $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Reserved,
VIP seats are available for $13.
