Character Descriptions

Flora Langley is a very old and very kindly soul. Her manner and spirit are dripping with the milk of human kindness. She dresses in good clothes, although somehow they aren’t quite as fashionable as they might be. Being old, she moves with slow, but deliberate movements.
Jason Bosley is extremely old and dressed in the turned collar of the minister. He speaks with a soft, almost ministerial quality in his voice. He wears silver-rimmed glasses.
Emily Jordan is perhaps the youngest of the four older people, but she is quite white-haired. Although she moves slowly as befits her age, she is the best preserved of the four. She has a good figure for one her age, dresses very well and sports an up-to-date hairdo.
Philip Mullins is even older than the other three. He is almost bent double with age but has an irresistible twinkle in his eye. His voice is cracked and slow as are his movements, but he has a wonderful sense of humor and is something of a flirt.
Richard Collins is about thirty and handsome in a rugged way. He has an air of sophistication from having worked in the city, but he belongs to the easy-going life of the country.
Jessica Selby is a very attractive young woman in her mid-twenties with a keen sense of humor, but she is capable of being extremely firm when the occasion arises.
Hubert Ratner is middle-aged and smooth to the point of being almost oily. Being overly confident of himself, he considers his charm his biggest asset.
Warren Coates is the same age as Hubert Ratner, but he is the underdog. He tries very hard to please but has an unfortunate way of always saying the wrong thing.
Frederick Ruggles is a pleasant-looking middle-aged man who shows great strength. His gruffness hides quite a warm heart.
Sylvia Coates is the proper wife for a small town official. She is dressed extremely well, says the right thing and is always conscious of her position.
