TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater. Will consider 3-5 years’ experience without degree. 

Position Information:
This is a TEMPORARY, full-time (6-month) staff position that reports to the President’s Office. A search for the full-time position will open in 2013. 

Responsibilities:
The technical director will operate, maintain and assume responsibility for the performance technology aspects of a performing arts center, which is an active presenting organization, and home to the University’s theater, music, art, and communication arts programs. This involves supervising and maintaining the stages and shop areas; preparing for load-in, run-of, and load-out of all center events; recruiting, training, and supervising stagehands; designing and executing, or assisting in the design and execution, of sets, lights and sound for all Division of Communication and the Arts productions; and instructing proper techniques of stagecraft. The technical director will maintain the highest safety standards and will coordinate the scheduling, distribution, and set up of technical equipment.
