Noel Lenaghan, popular and renowned Irish musician, direct from Donegal,
will perform traditional Irish tunes and original songs

Noel Lenaghan – having just released his newest recording, an eleven track
CD entitled “Western Hemlock” - returns to Ohio for the first time in five
years with a one month “mini-tour” of the Midwest. When last here in 2007,
Noel performed before a near-capacity audience at the storied Beachland
Ballroom on Cleveland’s east side.

Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Noel was one of the area’s most
popular Irish musicians performing in the Cleveland area at venues such as
Tim Ryan's Pub and Fagan's in the Flats.

Singer, songwriter, flute, mandolin and guitar player Noel Lenaghan is a
musician whose work is steeped in the Irish tradition. Although he has a
huge body of tunes and songs from the reservoir of Irish traditional music,
his repertoire draws on a variety of sources including songs from Galway,
Mayo, Donegal, New Zealand, and his native town. Born in Belfast, now
living in Donegal, Noel was heavily influenced by the musical renaissance
that took place during the 60's and 70's in Ireland and has recently
released three solo albums, mostly of his own material, available on
Waterbug records.

In the past, he has performed and recorded with such groups as The
Different Drums of Ireland, Rakish Paddy, The Rambling Boys of Pleasure ,
the Cleveland-based Easy and Free, and the innovative Druid Soul Band.

“His tender songs flow seemlessly and beautifully as he weaves stories and
voice filled with imagery.”

                                                        --Steve Ide,
FolkBluegrass Blog

“Lenaghan’s rich voice, mandolin, guitar, flute, and tin whistle have
graced the airs and stages of the world for three decades.”

                                                                 The
Kilkenny Advertiser

“Lenaghan is a master at intriguing intros followed by almost
tongue-twisting lyrics.”

Nicky Rossiter, Rambles.NET

“A story-teller’s passion that owes something of its lineage to Woody
Guthrie.”

            Siobhan Long, The Irish Times
