"Joseph" leads a packed holiday schedule at CVLT

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH - Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is busy all year
round, but the holiday season is by far the busiest time of the year for
the organization, now in its 83rd Season. Over the next two months, the
Theatre will present a musical, a comedy, two concerts and a holiday
show for kids.

Starting things off is Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical JOSEPH
AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. In this popular rock-operetta,
the narrator (Alex Marzullo) tells the tale of Joseph (John Kolar) from
the Book of Genesis, and how he saved his family and the whole of Egypt
from certain disaster through his ability to interpret dreams. The
family-friendly production directed by Mike Rogan, with Musical Director
Meghan Strong and Choreographer Jen Justice, boasts a 43-member cast
that includes a remarkable number of families from several east-side
communities. The cast includes multiple members of the Sloop family,
Marzullo family, Grossberg family, Firehammer family, Edwards family,
Mulvaney family, Moughan family, Apanasewicz family and Bernardo family
in the cast, with actors spanning five decades.

Performances of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT are Friday
and Saturday evenings at 8 PM, November 16 - December 16, and Sundays
Nov. 25, Dec. 2 Dec. 16 at 2 PM. Tickets are $18 regular, $14 students
and seniors. Tickets to the Dec. 2 matinee are being sold exclusively
through Friends of WomenSafe - (440) 285-3741. See CVLT.org for info
complete details.

For those with less mainstream tastes, CVLT's smaller River Street
Playhouse stage presents David Lindsay-Abaire's absurd comedy WONDER OF
THE WORLD, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM from November 30 to December
15. Under direction of Yvonne E. Pilarczyk, audiences follow Cass (Kacey
Shapiro) as she leaves her husband for Niagara Falls in search of the
meaning of life. Along the way, she encounters a blithely suicidal
alcoholic, a lonely tour-boat captain, a pair of bickering private
detectives and a strange caper involving a gargantuan jar of peanut
butter, all of which pushes her perilously close to the water's edge.
Tickets are $10, and the play is not recommended for younger audiences.

Younger audiences /will/, however, delight in CVLT's annual /Holiday
Show & Gingerbread Tea/. This afternoon show for children brings Santa
Claus and friends into town a few weeks early on December 8 and 9 ($8 -
$10). Families are also welcome when the Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra
returns for its annual Wassail concert of Christmas favorites on
December 22 and 23 ($20 regular, $15 youth). The theatre wraps up 2012
with a shiny bow, presenting a musical revue with wine and hors
d'oeuvres on New Year's Eve, featuring vocalist Pat Mazzarino and
friends, performing songs from pop and musical theatre ($25).

For complete details and tickets to any of these events, see Chagrin
Valley Little Theatre's website at CVLT.org, or call 440-247-8955
between 1-6 PM, Monday through Saturday. Chagrin Valley Little Theatre
is located at 40 River Street in historic Chagrin Falls Village. CVLT is
generously funded by Cuyahoga County residents through Cuyahoga Arts and
Culture and supported by the Ohio Arts Council.
