Community Theatre’s production of

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Cast
of Characters: 27 total (7 Male, 4 Female,
5 Neutral (M or F), 10+ non-speaking)

 

Aslan
– Male or Female: A Great Lion. Actor
needs to have a strong delivery; great range of emotion available and can be
physically flexible. This is a part that will have a lot of movement along with
words.

 

White
Witch – Female: an Evil Queen.
Actress needs to embody a dark, sinister nature. Always calculating and
cunning, she moves with fluidity. Looking for a strong command of voice: the
ability to project is a must.

 

Lucy – Female: the youngest Pevensie child. Actress can be
younger. Lucy is the first to discover Narnia, and has a strong imagination. 

Susan – Female: the second eldest Pevensie child. Susan is
logical and practical, but speaks with alacrity and is the voice of sound and
sweet reason.

Edmund – Male: the third Pevenise child. Edmund often feels
left out and abandoned, and he speaks with a lot of sarcasm. He is easily duped
by the White Witch.

Peter – Male: the eldest Pevensie child. Peter is the head
of the family and feels the need to protect everyone. He is steadfast and true,
and he knows right from wrong.

 

Mr.
Badger – Male: a forest creature that
helps the children in their journey.

Mrs.
Badger – Female: a forest creature
that helps the children in their journey.

Tumnus,
the Fawn – Male: Tumnus lives in
Narnia and is Lucy’s guide and first friend. He is scared of the White Witch,
but has a desire to overcome the evil that has plagued Narnia.

Unicorn – Male or Female: a forest creature.

Centaur – Male: a forest animal. The Centaur is noble and
brave.

Fenris
Ulf – Male: Head of the White Witch’s
secret police. A wolf who craves power and hungers for authority.

Dwarf
– Male or Female: A Servant to the
Witch.

Father
Christmas – Male: A bringer of gifts.

Elf – Male or Female: A helper to Father Christmas.

White
Stag – Male or Female: an elusive
animal and good omen for the forest.

 

Non-
Speaking Roles:

Aslan’s
Followers: Creatures of the forest.

Witch’s
Army: Creatures of the snow and ice.

 

Audition Dates:
January 10th & 11th, 2013  Time:
5:30 -8:00pm

Buckeye Elementary School Music Room, 3180 Columbia Rd, Medina OH

with 8 people per slot.

prepare: Please come prepared to read
from the script. If you are not a strong reader yet, please come prepared with
a memorized monologue or story to tell. British accents are encouraged!
