Auditions for A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare

Strongsville Community Theatre will hold auditions for its spring production
of the hilarious comedy play A Midsummer Night's Dream by William
Shakespeare.  Auditions will be held on Sunday January 6th, 2013 from 2:00
pm to 5:00 pm and Monday January 7th, 2013 from 6:30 to 9:00pm.  

An appointment is preferred.  Walk-ins are welcome and will be auditioned
where space is available.  Please contact Director to make an appointment.

Auditions are being held at the Strongsville Rec/Senior Center located at
18100 Royalton Road (behind Target), Strongsville, Ohio.  Please use the
main entrance and turn left inside to gain access to the audition rooms.  

Please prepare a 1 minute monologue and be prepared to read a quick excerpt
from the script.  Please bring a photo.  You may download the audition form
on the Strongsville Community Theatre website and bring it with you to save
time.

Performance dates are April 26, 27, 28 and May 3, 4, 5, 2013.  All shows are
presented in the Little Theatre of Strongsville High School, 20025 Lunn Rd.
in Strongsville.  

 

Rehearsals begin the week of March 4, 2013.  Rehearsals run Monday-Thursday.


Age Range:  Teens to70's (some child fairy roles will be cast at a later
date)

 

Adult Roles   Titania, Oberon, Egeus, Duke, Hippolyta, Philostrate,
Mechanicals, Fairies

 

Late Teen to Young Adult Roles  Helena, Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius,
Mechanicals, Fairies

 

Story

A playful Shakespearean romp through the forest where teens run away from
their parents and run towards love, where a group of community theater
players rehearse a most lamentable tragedy, where the fairy world collides
with the real world and magic and zaniness ensue.  All set in the groovy
time period of the 1970's.
