Come on, people.  We're all grown ups.  There is no need for Fred to worry about what people post.  Is Fred expected to attest that the kitten is healthy, the sofa is as described, and the person looking for a roommate has never been convicted of a felony?  If you have a concern about the legitimacy of an offer, post your question.  You'll get lots of information and advice from the pros on the list who know the business.
