Job Announcement:

Cleveland Public Theatre is searching for a house manager
Position starts January 2013.
Cleveland Public Theatre is currently looking for a House Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring the best patron experience and providing accurate records to CPT staff. Candidate must be outgoing, detail-oriented problem solvers who can work calmly under pressure.
Schedule includes 3-4 nights per week (12-20 hours) during the runs of shows, which generally run for three weeks. House managers are primarily responsible for one performance space, but also work on special CPT events and serve as backup House Managers for other spaces. Pay is $8/hour with a shift minimum of four hours.
House Management duties include:

*         Maintaining the integrity of Cleveland Public Theatre's spaces including

o    Arriving at the theatre at least 90 minutes prior to the beginning of the show.

o    Troubleshooting performance spaces

o    Ensuring spaces are clean and tidy and supplies are stocked.

o    Light housekeeping of the performance and lobby spaces following the performances

*         Providing a positive patron experience by

o    Training and managing volunteer ushers.

o    Facilitating audience seating before performances.

o    Maintaining a quiet atmosphere in the lobby during performances by escorting latecomers to seats and assisting patrons with special needs.

o    Preventing and responding to emergency situations either directly or by contacting the appropriate staff or emergency personnel.

*         Maintaining accurate donation, attendance and sales records by

o    Stocking, inventorying and collecting income from self-serve concession stand.

o    Collecting and processing cash and checks from donation boxes.

o    Documenting all important show information in a nightly report.
The ideal candidate will possess:

*         A performing arts background

*         Basic cash-handling experience

*         Poise and professionalism in a fast-paced environment

*         The ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
