Tennis, anyone? How about a 10 minute play that features a tennis racquet? That's the creative challenge for the 2013 TheatreFest at Weathervane Playhouse.

Once again we are soliciting 10 minute plays for this, our 3rd annual 8x10 TheatreFest, to be held on August 16-18, 2013.
8 finalist plays will receive 3 performances over that weekend as well as cash prizes.

First-Place Prize: $350
Second-Place Prize: $250
Fan Favorite Award: $150
The five Runners Up: $50/each

Deadline for entries is May 31, 2013.
Other info about entering, rules, etc., can be found here.
Questions? Feel free to write to me.

Here’s what former finalists have to say about Weathervane’s TheatreFest:
Three words for any playwright thinking about entering Weathervane’s 8x10 TheatreFest: Go for it! I was thrilled when my play was among the 8 chosen for the 2012 competition. Weathervane Playhouse did a superb job producing the play. I was impressed by the acting, the directing, and the commitment of everyone at Weathervane to bringing new and varied works to the stage.
Maureen Connolly, 2012 Finalist, A LIFETIME WARRANTY

The publicity generated by The Weathervane Playhouse 8 X 10TheatreFest led to my receiving two inquiries of interest and a production in Ireland.
Jim Caputo, 2012 First-Place Winner for THE BINGO KING.

What a happy experience it was to have my play chosen for the 8X10 TheatreFest 2012. Even though I was not able to physically be there, I was kept abreast of the casting, the rehearsing, and the production itself by the amiable and able coordinator, Eileen Moushey, who also directed my play. Even though I was miles away, I felt like I was a part of this special event. Thank you, Eileen! **
Lena Gallegos, 2012 Audience Favorite for HOW DICK AND JANE FELL IN LOVE

** She left out the part where I saved a busload of orphans from going over a cliff.

See the slideshow of images and music from the 2012 Theatrefest and read the write-up by David Ritchey.
Weathervane’s 8x10 TheatreFest is listed in the 2013 Dramatist's Guild Resource Book (p 29).

We look forward to reading your plays!
