This Monday, January 28 we kick off our Winter/Spring 2013 semester including four fantastic classes designed specifically for ADULTS!  From Acting and Improv to Dance and Public Speaking ... there is something available just about every night of the week - each class led by industry professionals.

Isn't it time you got yourself back in the classroom and flexing those creative muscles again?  Isn't it time you took a moment for yourself?  Don't make any more excuses.  It is YOUR time now.

Acting Basics: Adults - Mon 6:30 pm (Ages 18-Up)
Dates/Time: Mon, February 11, 2013 - Mon, April 22, 2013 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Study various scenes and monologues. Classic and contemporary techniques in polishing craft along with keys to unlocking plays/scripts and bringing them from the page to the stage. Audition pieces welcomed and dream roles encouraged.

Adult Improv: Improv Games - Thu 7pm (Ages 18-Up)
Dates/Time: Thu, February 7, 2013 - Thu, March 7, 2013 from 7pm to 8:30pm

Actors explore improv games and team competition while honing their basic improvisational skills. Led by Something Dada Improvisational Troupe's Aaron Patterson.Students may sign up for all five sessions at $75 or join for a single session at $20 each.Single session tickets are available at Customer Services prior to class.

Dance for Musical Theater: Adults - Fri 6pm (Ages18-Up)
Dates/Time: Fri, February 1, 2013 - Fri, May 10, 2013 from 6pm to 7pm

Ages:  18 and up

For adults who are interested in performing, or who are already performing in the professional musical theater world or in community theater for fun! Students work on proper dance technique, alignment and terminology, as well as explore different dance styles that are popular in the musical theater world today. By the end of each class, students learn a dance combination from a show.

Express Yourself: Presentations for All Occasions - Wed 6 pm (Ages18-Up)
Dates/Time: Wed, February 6, 2013 - Wed, April 17, 2013 from 6pm to 7:30pm
Duration: 10 Week Session

"Express Yourself: Presentations for All Occasions" is a class we can all use! Reduce anxiety, acquire the necessary tools and fine tune speaking skills to deliver effective and captivating presentations. Whether students need to introduce themselves and express their opinions at community meetings, participate in networking events or give sales presentations to individuals or groups, this class will help them develop the necessary communication skills. Participants enjoy a relaxed interactive classroom setting with helpful evaluation from the instructor.

Fee: $25 for a 30-minute session. Accompanist available for an additional fee: $30 for a 30-minute session.

The associate director of Theater Education will be offering private coaching sessions. These scheduled work times are intended for the serious theater student in which to prepare materials for auditions and college applications.
