The musicians of Heights Chamber Orchestra, along with their Music Director
Anthony Addison, are proud to present their next concert to the community
on *Sunday, February 17th, 2013 at 3:30 p.m.* at Grace Lutheran Church
(13001 Cedar Rd.) in Cleveland Heights. This concert will feature violist
Jeffrey Irvine playing Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto (arranged by Lionel
Tertis, approved by Elgar). The program will also consist of “Fanfare!” by
Monica Houghton which was commissioned by HCO for its 30th anniversary
season, Overture to “Mignon” by Thomas, Fauré’s “Masques et Bergamasques”
Suite, and Chausson’s “La Tempête”. As with all Heights Chamber Orchestra
concerts, admission is free, though a freewill offer in encouraged. This
concert will honor the memory of former HCO member and Cleveland Orchestra
violist Edward Ormond. A reception with the musicians will follow the
performance

Jeffrey Irvine joined the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music as
the Fynette H. Kulas Professor of Viola in September of 1999. He was
Professor of Viola at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music from 1983 to 1999
and was also chair of the Oberlin's string division from 1992 to 1999. His
students have gone on to major orchestral, teaching and chamber music posts
across the country and around the world. His students have often been First
Prize Winners in major viola competitions, including the Primrose
Competition, the ASTA National Solo Competition, and the Washington
International Competition. Mr. Irvine previously taught at Wichita State
University and the Eastman School of Music.

Heights Chamber Orchestra is made up of amateur musicians primarily from
Cleveland Heights and Cleveland’s eastern suburbs. 2012-2013 is the
orchestra’s 30th season. For more information about this performance, the
