*ABOUT MEMORY ACTING: Memory Technique for Actors*

Frustrated when “memorizing the lines”? *Is Memory the real fear? *

Why do actors call “line”? What is “muscle memory”?

Why can’t we remember lines in rehearsal ... when we know the lines at
home?


*MEMORY ACTING offers a common sense approach to memorizing the work.*


Memory is a largely forgotten technique. A good memory is not just the good
luck of those "other" good actors. How actors memorize affects the realism
and emotion of their performance.  *MEMORY ACTING -- based on modern
neuroscience --* teaches memory techniques for actors. Chunking, Binding,
Accumulation, Decoding, Spatial Substitution, and Memory Arts are some of
the basic techniques covered.

*Every actor should have basic memory techniques. Memory is the work.*

*Dr. Rooney earned a PhD in theater from Bowling Green State University,
MFA & MA from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU. At BGSU she studied the
neuroscience of human memory and emotion in order to create safe effective
acting exercises for professional and student actors. *
